Call customer service because automated system won't take my payment. Get the run around that even though the bill says if your having problems call customer service number and the prompts also say press 0 for a representative to help with making payment. Yet no one can take the payment over the phone. I am declined using at hospitals that say their blue cross blue shield.

The co-insurance is a joke they can charge what ever they want So basically the company is not for the patients and even people who want to pay their bill get to jump through hoops It's just a scam to get you to pay extra (that's if they take your money) I would rather my Dog's veterinary insurance at least then Maybe I can get treatment I need and maybe just maybe they would pay for long lasting insulin rather then BCBS and deny life saving medications

This company is price gouging. I went to the doctor through Duke urgent care. They recommended I get a wrist brace. They offered a quality product apparently sold by SME. Little did I know i was going to be charged $183 for a simple wrist brace. Similar quality braces can be found online for $25 -$50. I figured I would have to pay extra at the doctor.

Maybe $80, but nothing over $100. The doctor and staff conveniently feigned ignorance when I asked how much the product would cost. I would have laughed out loud and immediately left if I'd been informed of the actual cost. One would hope my insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, would push back on this type of predatory medical equipment peddling. Unfortunately they did nothing.

My issues were exacerbated when I received the bill from SME. I hadn't done business with this company so I throw the paper away thinking it was a scam. Yesterday I was called by collections saying I owed money for a product I received at the Duke clinic. I was confused because I'd already paid my Duke bills. It turns out Duke prefers to offload their price gouging products to SME.

I called Duke to resolve the issue. They had no record of my purchase. They told me to call SME. I called SME but they blamed my insurance for accepting the overinflated prices they set for their product. At this point everyone is trying to offload responsibility for a system which seems to be taking advantage of patients in need. Some positive things. 1.

The SME woman I spoke with was kind. Her name is Shannon. She was informative but claimed she couldn't do anything to change the cost of the product. 2. The lady at Duke billing was very kind. 3. The wrist brace is good quality and made in America. 4. The medical staff at the urgent care was kind and competent.

Edit 3/10/22: I have Medicaid through BCBSNC. I cannot eat any food and have lost 70+ lbs in 5 months (my ribs and other bones are severely showing through). My aldosterone levels are FOUR TIMES the normal limit and my resting heart rate is over 120 bpm. BCBSNC has now denied me a CT scan *three times*, even after sending them 40 pages of paperwork.

They also refused to cover an ER chest X-ray. I honestly cannot believe I am still alive - I am somehow surviving on coconut water and multivitamins. Life changes so quickly, don't ever take your good health for granted! We are humbled when our own mortality is threatened. I had hoped to return to work since my son is now 16, or maybe start a business, but my health suddenly declined last October and now I am stuck in this limbo with no help.

Nobody here cares about how dire your situation is, obviously a dead person is cheaper than a living person with medical needs. I don't understand how a bunch of complex-ridden non-doctors can pick and choose what your own doctor deems medically necessary in an emergency situation. I would give anything to be able to eat a delicious meal without severe pain + fainting, I just want a simple classic pb&j sandwich at this point.

I actually dream about being able to eat. I'm tired of being stuck on the couch and barely able to shuffle around the house. I'm not a very religious person, but I'm begging God to end my misery soon. Original review January 2022: This company is solidly and genuinely evil. If you have a choice, choose literally ANYONE ELSE for your health insurance needs.

I am only 37, on my death bed due to adrenal/kidney issues, and they denied my potentially life-saving abdominal CT scan. They requested extra paperwork from my physicians, which we sent, TWICE, and BCBS claims they "never received it" (this seems to be a huge problem with them). I am just waiting to die at this point

A evil for profit insurance company that will not help with medical bills even if my family paid 30 plus years of insurance payments this is the worst company with terrible policy I have ever had to speak too, they do not care about the customers Heath just talking there money without offering any services, look at any other insurance company bluecross nc commits fraud and and only cover the worse doctors in the state,

Horrible insurance. They tell doctors what medication they should prescribe even after your doctor disagrees. As if they are doctors when all they care about is $. My husband has to try 20 different medications before they will consider covering the medication he has been on for over a decade, that works. The cost of our premium is absurd and you get next to nothing in benefits. BCBS is a gross joke. If you have other options go with any of them but BCBS I guarantee you will hate them.

Every single time I have to call Customer Service they are the nicest, most helpful I've ever dealt with. One guy stayed on the phone with me over an hour with Marketplace to help work out my new subsidies and policy. Their Customer Service should be the standard for every company.

Insurance Beware, bunch of hidden fee's. I had a $0 Deductible plan with these people and ended up having to pay $500 + of uncovered fees for in network because they actually dont live up to their $0 Deductible. You have been warned, look else where unless you enjoy paying for both your insurance and uncovered medical bills.

The worst customer service possible- website has been dysfunctional for well over a month, wrong phone numbers posted and delivered to customers, and if you are lucky enough to accidentally call the right number, prepare to be put on hold for 90 minutes or more only to be told that they can't help you. And all I want to do is pay my bill.

What a joke! I did not renew my BCBSNC for the year 2022, and now it's been automatically renewed! They already sent me a new insurance card, with a new bill sent to my email. Their online payment and billing service was not available, and they asked me to call. When I called, they were always busy. Their website's chat service was not available. That's partly the reason why I have to stop using BCBS NC. This company is just greedy and evil.

Scammer who can literally pick and choose what they want to pay for and said they have to right to deny anything for any reason. You don't cover prenatal genetic testing? The test for extra chromosomes/downs that always gets done. Literally everyone covers it. Guess prenatal care for our infant isnt covered. $2000 bill for blood test, not to mention the ER bill my PREGNANT wife was sent by the hospital Er.

Because her doctor ordered for immediate fluids for severe HG Not to mention the monuds of other bills that keep coming in the mail for doctors visits and other related issues (alot)
