Bad goes to worst, I was billed 450.00 for a vaccine. I started a complaint. "It's your fault for allowing them to give it to you." was the response. There is nothing in terms of organization. Who is suppose to tell you prior to the visit that you are going to get a huge bill after you have had a shot that isn't covered by insurance. There is NO choreographed process for any procedure. It's the insurance providers fault, it's the physician's fault, no, it's your fault for not asking as you put your foot in the door.

As a result I can't afford to go to a physician for the rest of the year. I learned my lesson, I'm just not going to a physician anymore unless I'm dying. That's it. Good luck to you, I hope you will learn something from this. Insurance user beware! I have written them four times. It come back in one word, "denied". I'm going back to WPS!

They are not willing to help you understand any kind of questions you have at all. They told me to look in my documents and my question about an employees health insurance (THROUGH QUARTZ) is "not quartz problem"

Their plans are really bad. We enrolled with their high deductible plan. We were told by one of their customer service reps that after we meet the deductible, the plan kicks in and covers all. However, we found it out later that there are also maximum out of pocket and co-pay after we already met our annual deductible. I called them. A different customer rep said the previous rep gave incorrect information but there is nothing she can do.

After I calculate the premium plus deductible plus maximum out of pocket and co-pay, I found it is cheaper to pay the doctor without having Quartz insurance plan. What a lesson! BTW, their plans and plan language are tricky. It expects someone who has health insurance and a little bit legal background to not fall in their trick.

I am referred to a specialist by my primary doctor. I arrive there and am told to see another specialist. After an 2 hour wait after my scheduled appointment my scheduled procedure was canceled and the specialist came in and told me to come back in 4 months. This happened 2 times for 2 different procedures. I was billed each time for going to an appointment when all I did was wait. Quartz still sent me several bills explaining that They had To bill me for waiting 2 hours;2 different times for doing nothing and come back in 3 months for the same procedure.

Apparently, it isn't medically necessary for my 8 year old with a broken arm to be seen sooner than 6 weeks from date of injury. (What's that? It'll have healed incorrectly by then and require further care? No kidding!) I went through your charade of an appeal process that lasted 4 minutes (the longest part was the introduction of the "committee" that asked zero questions after my statement). Truly, you do not care about customer service or patient care, and you've got the reviews to show it.

On top of this blatant, unethical cruelty, the incompetent agent scheduling the fake appeals needed to call me 3 different times the day of the appeal as she was unsure if she told me the right time, then said they'd be early, then never called for the appeal, and I had to call her after our scheduled time. Thank goodness open enrollment is right around the corner. Quartz is the worst.

I have had a Quartz HMO plan for the past five years and LOVE the prompt professional service, approval of specialty meds, easy wellness reward reimbursement, procedure approval process. Have never had a billing issue. Thanks for the great service.

When I looked up Quartz's phone number, I was shocked to see they only have a 1.9 Star average on Google. As both a Member of Quartz and a Practice Manager who works with many insurance companies, I can honestly say that this place is one of the easiest companies to work with. They provide incredibly friendly member support staff, great benefits, and an easy to use online system integrated with Epic MyChart.

Quartz is the worst medical insurance you could have. They deny everything. My friend had the exact same prescription I did and it took no time for Dean to approve it, but Quartz denied it as "not medically necessary." It is absolutely necessary, and my six family members and I will be switching to Dean. I'll let everyone I know that Dean is real health coverage and Quartz is, as others have stated here already, a scam.

Don't waste your money. Their highly-paid "expert" doctors, who are likely not experts on rare conditions, will deny what you need because it means a bigger bonus for them at the end of the year. And good luck getting their customer service to answer your questions. They may as well not have a customer service department at all. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Quartz Health switched CPAP vendors in July 2020 to Chartwell Midwest, a company that in 5 months has not been able to figure out how to answer the phone or accept internet orders! Quartz, despite many complaints, has done nothing to solve the problem or find another vendor. What gives, Quartz? You are the 800# gorilla in the room. do your job for your members and find another vendor for CPAP supplies! DAR, Madison, WI

This company is absolutely terrible. I went on the website my chart. To check the status of my insurance to see if I would still be covered. I have proof showing that I was covered still. They will not pay for this bill. Due to them not getting a letter from my employer in time. They stated that since the employer put in this date. My employer never gave me a specific end date.

I went to the ER one day after it ended. They still will not pay for it. I have always had issues with this company. They have also told me I would be covered at this place and I wasn't. I got charged. This company literally rips people off and when they need help. they aren't there to help. Would never recommend this company ever to anyone.

We just purchased Fitbit and Garmin watches to participate in their wellness program. These were purchased the Saturday after Christmas. We had everything sync and had rewards points. It is a very confusing system to get the rewards, which is an Amazon card. After the new year starts thes rewards disappear and you can't access the Amazon card. Quartz doesn't seem to care about this as they just keep saying they disappear at the end of the year.

After four phone calls they finally explained where to look in the future if we have enough points. Their website is not very friendly to work with plus it is not mobile friendly.

The worse customer service. They dropped my infant daughter from my benefits with no warning or reason, I found this when I went to pick up a script for her. I called and no one could give me an explanation as to why my daughters coverage had been dropped. They said they would look into it and call me right away. No call back. When I called back they were still looking into it.

My daughter who is less than 2 months old needs that medication with out it her condition will worsen. I'm forced to pay out of pocket now. Price and coverage wise I feel like benefits are comparable to other insurance companies. I feel awful that UW Health is associated with Quartz

Benefits are too hard to use. I'm sure it's intentional. None of the online services that take this insurance will recognize my subscriber number. I can't find help from them either, on their website. Have complained and will keep complaining. This is why I don't use doctors, the medical system, etc. Confusing on purpose and don't you dare use it.

I am a new customer at Quartz and so far I have not had great experiences. It was difficult for me and my significant other to get in contact with Quartz to start coverage (he still has not heard from them). Once I received coverage I was mailed like 8 insurance cards which seems like overkill. Also the most recent and biggest issue is that I was charged twice for my last premium, which was actually doubled anyways due to owing my first 2 months.

But basically I was overcharged over $600 and customer service did not seem too worried about it. I cancelled my auto payment in fear of this happening again. I am waiting to be contacted to fix this issue so I can be reimbursed for my money that should not have been taken out of my account in the first place.

If I could give negative number I would. Husband prescribed medication that caused allergic reaction of blisters and a rash. Hospice signed off in order to send him to hospital to ensure things would not get worse. Hubby has Alzheimers and was aggitated also. Hubby refused regular medication which included pain meds for chronic pain for a week prior to ER visit.

Nothing given to relieve pain. He wasn't eating or drinking for a week. Had several falls due to weakness. He was given a dose of Haldol for aggitation only and medically released. Said blisters looked like a hot liquid i jury, despite the fact that medication information sheets mentions blisters caused by medication. Then, Quartz don't pay for hospice, but if I can find a nursing home willing to accept him, it has to be in Network.

They don't pay, but they tell me where I got to go? I will pay for ambulance tomorrow to pick him up from this hospital and bring him back home. I have caregiver burnout, but even I can do better than this.

I feel that the relationship between Quartz and Gundersen Health needs to be investigated by the Attorney Generals office. The inability to dispute the additions that are added to the bills is very concerning. When the health service owns the insurance company it is very obvious who is going to come out on top.

Avoid Quartz and UW Health. Quality of care has decreased dramatically in the last 3 years. When you really need your doctor, she/he is not available. You will wait a minimum of 3-4 months. When you have an unexpected health issue you will be shunted to either a temporary (like an LTE) part-time doctor or a nurse practitioner. Even when you see a nurse practitioner, not a doctor, you'll still pay your full copay for a doctor visit.

Please avoid these guys. My 4 yr old daughter has a very rare eye condition (she was born with a cataract in one eye). As a result, she is nearly blind in one eye and requires a very strong contact to see. Most insurers cover the cost of the contact--as recommended by the association of pediatric opthamologists. The contacts are far more expensive then regular contacts, and they fall out regularly.

This is the only treatment for this condition. Unity treats my daughter as a regular cataract patent, and offers no assistance. We have gone through all the appeals, and they have offered no assistance. This is such a rare situation, they have no incentive to help us. Please. Please. Help us by avoiding this company.

More recently issues with unity are. my employer requires that I do in HRA (health risk assessment) which was done the later part of October too early November. my wife had to do one as well but she had to do 2 one for my employer one for her employer and for some reason along the Way they lost my information. so seeing since they no longer have my information they are saying I did not do one so now I have to pay $5000 for the year when all the unity had to do is tell the employer that there was a computer glitch and everything would've been okay and I would've had to pay $5000.

And put icing on the cake I had two surgeries last year they had Health Risk Assessments done prior to surgery as well. Somebody paid for these it wasn't me so must've been unity why they can't see that health risk assessments were done multiple times throughout the year. It makes me wonder who is doing the bookkeeping? I told my employer that I just want to drop out of the healthcare program they said I'm not eligible to drop out from it but I'd have to actually quit my job then they would terminate my healthcare. we need to stand up against unity and tell him no thank you we don't want coverage from you!
