Pretty sure this insurance company is ran out of someone's meemaws basement. God bless you if you're able to actually get your car fixed from this dingleberry company.

NLC insurance always was a very good insurance company for homeowners. Unfortunately that has changed! After having coverage for many years, they have decided to Non renew with us due to two small claims in a 2 1/2 year time frame. Sad you have insurance for this purpose, and are penalized for it. ALSO the last claim had taked 10% for DEPRECIATION- YET we have a 4% automatic inflation guard- an additional endorsement/cost.

This does not make sense! That means if you have a complete loss of $300k you are charged $30k for depreciation? Sad they are no longer a small hometown company. Be careful once you make a claim!

It seems by the comments here that NLC is cleaning house, and I have become one of the victims. In June of 2020 my son got a 5-day tag for a broken signal light. For those who don't know, a 5-day tag is issued for something like a burnt out headlight, or, in this case, a broken turn signal If it's fixed within 5 days, the ticket is thrown out. I helped him fix it, he submitted the proper paperwork, and the ticked was thrown out. However, NLC is using that against me to cancel my policy, with quite literally 2 weeks before it expires. It is October 15, 2021 by the way. I guess our over 5 years of clean driving means nothing to NLC.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value This company is a rip off! We switched to them through a third party and they raised our auto insurance without even notifying us and then we find out later that our auto insurance had been cancelled. Our homeowner insurance policy is another horror story! I have never been more disgusted with a company!

Critical: Quality Constantly checking home and showing up to my property unannounced. Quoted a price for insurance on home and then sent bill with a much higher price, then claimed based on home inspection by second insurance inspector. Would recommend to avoid using this company.

Like others on this page I'd just like give a shout out to Mary Lynn and Kimberly Young for cancelling my coverage after I spent 400$ on inspections (which were in compliance) because they sent me a conditional cancellation notice 2 months after I began coverage. They also sent my agent an email because I contacted them to make sure they got everything they needed. (Unbeknownst to me, they had already decided to drop me.) Whatever, now I'm paying 300$ less per year for the same coverage.

Never in my life have I dealt with such unreasonable business practices. They will be reported to the BBB. Good luck NLC! PS those 5 star reviews MUST BE FAKE OR PAID OFF. I'M LOOKING AT YOU RANDOM INDIAN GUY AND "KIMBERLY KAT" LOL

Might as well go w/o coverage because they won't cover or payout if you do have a claim. Just take payments and do nothing. Worst company I have ever dealt with and are cheap for a reason. This was a life lesson that "lowest priced" is not always the best. They didn't cover my claim due to "my roof being too old" but never stated that as a stipulation of my coverage when a TREE FELL ON MY HOUSE!

I don't care how old a roof is; if a tree falls on a house it's going to cause damage! I looked up best consumer rated insurance companies and went with AMICA. I pay more, but they have been no questions asked on any claims or issues. Do not use New London County as they will screw you.

I've only had good experiences with NLC. Their rates are unbeatable compared to big name insurers like Geico, and when I needed to file a claim due to storm damage, their process was very simple and I didn't see a rate spike. I've had them for over 5 years.

READ THE FINE PRINT! Almost 3 years with this company and i get 1 ticket for "traveling too fast"so they inform me they will be dropping me when my policy expires in a few months. I've never made a claim and paid them over $18k in the 3 years. They are also unprofessional when you call them for the simplest question. Low level amateur company. The fact that they don't respond to any of the posts here should give you an idea what your dealing with. If there was a way to rate without stars or worse, I would Avoid if you can.!

Disgusted! I filed a claim with NLC, I called and requested that the appraiser come to save the insurance company some money. I then had ServePro come and do the work, as well as replaced the broken plumbing. My house is in active foreclosure, and therefore I did not get the notice that NLC was not renewing my policy due to prior damage from a "preexisting" issue. What, what issue?

I learned all of this by speaking with a customer service rep. NLC dropped me withOUT inspecting the house AFTER ServePro did the work. This is rather deceitful type of work. I've been told to speak with my insurance agent, and I will. I will NEVER recommend a company that can not do face to face business, and deal directly with the customer.
