My wife has been a Peoples Bank customer for 20 years. We had a closing on the sale of a house. The proceeds came in 2 checks. One to my wife. The other to her father, but, she had his power of attorney. Depositing the checks she was informed there would be a 28 day hold on the check made out to her! They would not accept the second check at all. We are canceling the accounts here completely and seeking a better managed bank with true customer service.

My husband and I went to this bank at the beginning of July to apply for a loan to buy our first home. The lady was busy so we left our contact information and expected to be contacted the following day. We never got a call so we called the bank and once again left our contact info because she was busy again. After a week of calling with no return calls, we decided to take our business elsewhere.
We closed on our first home yesterday! It has been almost 2 months and we have NEVER gotten a call back from People's Bank. Not very good customer service in my opinion! I'm glad we decided to go with another business!
