If you are remotely in the market for life insurance don't even waste your time looking here. My wife and I went through their whole process just to hear that they wanted to raise rates and make more money off of use due to have to low of cholesterol. Which happens to be a symptom of stress, and yeah underwriting is aware shes a Med Student (AKA High Stress).

Go ahead and google the risks with that, and their don't seem to be any, as well as most life insurance companies off numerous calls don't penalize against it. We now have to go through the whole process again after finding a new company. We are both 21 and in excellent health probably above most people of our age. When calling to speak with anyone regarding this they're unable to even consult a higher power, and when you say you're gonna tell they wold online they don't care about that either so here I am trying to alert potential people who may be looking at wasting time. Just DONT

Rating: Negative 1! I began the process of buying term life insurance back in December 2019. Protective was suggested as having the lowest rates for seniors (I'm 65). It took until March 2020 before they issued a quote. After losing my initial information and not being able to find it even after I re-sent it 3 times during January-February, they finally offered a much higher premium rate - because I am "underweight" according to the charts.

I have weighed between 120-130 since high school, depending on various life events (kids). It is now May 4, 2020, and they still have not offered me a quote that is acceptable. Customer service is apparently not a high priority with their company.

Called about some surrender paperwork I received. Got on the phone with a representative to walk me thru some tricky signing areas, step by step, line by line, page by page only to find out 2 weeks later that she told me incorrect info and now I have to wait another month for this whole paperwork process to be completed and hope it's right this time!

Not to mention each time I call I'm on hold for 20-30 min! Seems like they're purposefully trying to get out of paying out for a policy we had for 30+ years! Don't know if all insurance companies are like this but I would definitely look elsewhere! Is there something less than 1 star?
