My company has worked with EBC for many years. We LOVE them. Their customer service team that responds to questions from our employees (and from me) work from a call center in Wisconsin so they are easy to understand and they have always been VERY responsive and helpful. I can't recommend them more highly.

I would rate them zero stars if I could. My employer started using EBC for flexible spending accounts for healthcare. Even though I use the flexible spending card they issued which will only approve for transactions that are fsa approved, they make you substantiate just about every transaction which is a pain. Most recently, my wife bought a new pair of prescription eye glasses at the optometrist's office which is also at the clinic of the healthcare provider. Ofcourse EBC required documentation.

I uploaded the receipt provided to us right away to substantiate. Got an email a couple of days later that it wasn't good enough. I called their phone number to speak to a human being. Their automated call tree did not work. It kept asking the same two questions despite the fact that I was entering correct information. I then called back and pressed the option to speak to their operator.

This was during their publicly stated business hours. I was on hold for about ten minutes before hanging up. EBC is the worst flexible spending account management company out there. I will be telling our HR Manager to move our business elsewhere. Update 04/12/2022: Another poor experience. I'm receiving constant notices for needed proof of transactions even though the flex card is being used directly at healthcare organizations.

Most recently, the notice they provided did not include the entity name (we deal with several healthcare organizations) and many other providers or the cardholder (family member) for which the transaction completed. Had to call EBC and they had the name of the entity, they just didn't put it on the email communication which required me to research which family member and which healthcare entity was billed. Very frustrating.

My employer recently switched over to this EBC and I'm not a fan. We used to go through TASC, which was much better because you didn't have to submit any medical documentation to prove your transactions. I think it's a violation of privacy for a third party flex spending company to require medical documentation for your transactions. Especially when the amount for your flex spending allowance is deducted from your paycheck every week.

So they are always getting reimbursed regardless because there is a spending limit. I hate providing medical documentation. Doesn't matter how they code, it they should be able to tell by the name of the business that I was at the doctor's office. Still confused as to why it's necessary to provide this information for spending my own money. I will be reporting them to my HR representative. I will do my best to talk them into going back to TASC.

Continuously collect payments and insurers repeatedly deny coverage. 3rd time having to reactivate my coverage after denied claims.

On more than one occasion a representative from EBC made a conference call so it could be explained to the medical billing department that my bill had already been paid through a lump sum check. The support I received from EBC gave me confidence to assert myself and I was successful in getting the balance owed removed from my account.

This company is a joke. I'm so tired of using my benefit card then have to answer to THEM! They need to know in DETAIL every freaking transaction. Like really swipe at the doctor (what did you get done details of the visit?) like NONE Of your Business!

Terrible customer service! I was at Mercy's financial counselor and she was going to talk with EBC to try getting them documents EBC requested, however after 15 minutes being on hold waiting to talk with someone I hung up. It is no wonder EBC has only 2 star rating through Google reviews. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Honestly, one of the worst benefits services providers I've ever had the misfortune of having to deal with-and considering the competition, that is saying a lot. They will deny charges or require additional documentation seemingly at random and provide no reason and they actually lock your account so you can't access your funds if you do not provide the documentation. Their web portal is terrible, but their mobile apps are worse.

I accidentally assigned funds to my dependent care and didn't realize that's for Daycare and Pre-School. My kids are older and I called to see if I could have the funds transferred to another account I could actually use. They were able to transfer the funds and I'm one happy camper!

Employee Benefits Corporation is the reason I opted out of my employer benefits. I would advise strongly against signing up with any program they are involved in. The app does not accurately record documentation required to get approval on medical expenses and they are less than helpful in resolution. Worst benefits experience of my life and I will likely never use an FSA again because of them. Wish I could leave less than one star.
