We gave birth at Akron City Hospital. they force you to do a maternity ward tour to show you all the things you will "get" during the birthing process. ALL LIES. this hospital did not deliver on even one of the amenities they advertised. We were left alone for 2.5hrs during labor with no information as to what's going on. After birth we sat in recovery for 5 hours (only supposed to be 2) while several other patients came and went.

When I asked the nurses we were treated like second rate citizens and told we just "had to wait". Finally in our recovery room 6hrs after birth they took the baby to the NICU without really explaining why. again it took me raising a stink to be filled in as to why our baby had to be hooked up to an IV. The only good part of this entire experience was the Children's Hospital NICU unit. they have been extremely informative and helped us understand what was going on. Finally. I know stuff happens; emergency's especially, but it sure would've been nice to been kept in the loop during the entire birthing process

My grandmother presented to the ED with near-critical symptoms requiring oxygen and antibiotics at 1400 today. It is now 2115, and she is still sitting in the ED hallway. She has not used the bathroom or eaten this entire time. Her oxygen ran out and it took nearly an hour for a RN to change the tank. They "don't know" when she'll be able to get a room or be seen by a MD, which she desperately needs.

The staff are running around treating crackheads and the entire unit smells like a blunt. You call this healthcare? Are you serious? In the United States? The greatest healthcare system in the world? Where are your staff? Where are the beds? This isn't COVID Delta surge anymore. Unacceptable excuse for a hospital.

I called the hospital to have flowers sent to a friend's room. Courtney in the gift shop was fabulous! From finding out what room my friend was in and confirming he could have flowers to helping me pick an arrangement. Thank you Courtney I appreciate your time and effort!

Filthy. If I wasn't in such distress I would have taken pictures. Blood on the bed in the ER. Neurology leaves you alone all day. Then towards the end of midday oh we will put you in an MRI to which you are still waiting at 730 pm. If you sign an AMA make sure you have proof you are at the hospital first so there's no chance of you getting fired. I know if I do I will sue because I was there. Physically there in er and neurology for HOURS.

My 90 year old Aunt fell and broke her hip. The paramedics took her to Summa City hospital. They treated her well but that isn't where this ended. After her surgery they sent her to a nursing home. The care there was horrible but that is for a different review. We ended up having to bring my Aunt back to the hospital. They put her on the 6th floor.

I was there today to visit and ALL the nurses and aids and even the people that bring the food up were 100% very nice and attentive to my aunt and to me. In a world that is so messed up the people on the 6th floor were awesome. Thanks for taking such good care of my Aunt.

Been dealing with Urology since late Fall of last year, more specifically Dr. Dankoff and Dr. Arora and their nurses and staff (including Summa surgery). I am 50 and unexpectedly found out I have stage 3 prostate cancer. I am now healing from a robotic prostatectomy. It is very possible I will need further treatment in the future. What else can I say about these doctors and their teams other than they are saving my life?

They are kind, compassionate, smart, and communicative. In fact, Dr. Dankoff called me late afternoon on New Year's eve to make sure I stay calm and encouraged about a just posted MRI results. At the same time, Dr. Arora called me the evening before my surgery to calm and encourage me. It was the evening before our latest huge snowstorm and I was already stressed about the surgery let alone trying to have my wife navigate the weather during it.

He told me it would be alright and he had our backs and he would keep us both safe. I believed him and am so happy I didn't put it off. I got to watch first hand how their teams of doctors, nurses, and staff function -- including under the pressure of a pending 17 inch snow storm. At all points of the surgery experience, I felt safe and taken care of -- even as the nursing staff prepared their teams to potentially stay overnight if necessary.

When my wife and I decided to stay the path of Summa Urology for my care, we had this sense why explore other options when everything I/we needed seemed in our own backyard. If the rest of the teams at Summa are anything like the teams of Dr. Dankoff and Dr. Arora, we are a very fortunate community. I/we are very thankful and while I know the road ahead could very likely still be bumpy at times, my wife and I feel safe in their caring and intelligent hands.

My mother and sister arrived at the ER around 3pm on 2-18-22. Several tests were performed on my mother who's 86 years old. It took six hours to received the results. Only to be told, my mother was going to be admitted. They're still waiting In the ER with no definite word when the room would be ready. This is totally unacceptable for an Hospital to run professionally this poorly. I'm sure you don't cut back on your cost due to poor management.

I usually go to general because they're more compassionate but this is where my doctor said to go. The nurses down play everything you tell them, in the notes they add things you DID NOT SAY. Don't say anything about anxiety because they'll put in your notes you say you make things worse with your anxiety. Which wasn't said, what was said was "when my anxiety kicks in and I start getting clammy and sweating I feel much worse." Cherrie the night nurse from 7p-7a popped in one time, when I nurse called she didn't even want to come in the room she just said over the intercom "you turned on your light?" Well yea I need to see a nurse I haven't seen in 12 hours.

Even being hooked up to a fetal monitor and baby being off the monitors for 3 hours not one nurse came to do anything. At this point when I get to go home this baby would be born at home before I came back here.

Would not recommend their maternity department. Very strict visitor policies for partners. Partners are not provided any food and are barely provided any linens. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on property so be prepared to smoke with hobos on East Market St, very safe? They own most of the surrounding land around the hospital so best of luck. Went to every prenatal class Summa offers and never was the meal policy mentioned or the strict visitor policies. We'll be going elsewhere for our next birth.

I had my son March 6th 2021. I went in to be induced on March 4th. My first time having a kid so I was new to the whole labor and delivery process. After they gave me my epidural I wasn't able to feel anything or leave my bed. Everytime I called one of my nurses in they acted like I was bothering them. They were very rude. Once I had my son and finally got my recovery room them nurses there were HORRIBLE!

I wasn't able to walk right for 2days and everytime I'd bring it up the nurses would brush it off. They were very very rude. I had a nurse try to argue with my mother while we were leaving. Also had the person they call to wheelchair you out argue with my mother the whole way to our car. All because we got fed up and had to walk up to the nurses station because they were taking forever.

Them nurses there are only there for a paychack. I honestly feel like you guys need to do a better job at the nurses you hire. Nun of them there were friendly AT ALL and it was a pretty horrible experience, especially for somebody having a baby for the first time. Also they were VERY RUDE to my mother. I was disgusted at how the staff acted. When it was time for food they acted like my mother didn't have a right to order or let alone get the food she did order.
