In 1870 Ransom True Sr. sold his first insurance policy in Syracuse, NY. Since then the business has been passed down from generation to generation and True Insurance has grown to meet the needs of individuals, families and businesses of all sizes in the Ithaca and Tompkins County area. In 1958, Jerome True brought the family business to the Ithaca area, joining with J. Guy Torbert of the T.H. Davenport Co. True eventually bought the business and changed its name to what it is today: True Insurance.

Critical: Responsiveness I've had good and poor experiences with True Insurance. They are very inconsistent so you never know what you will get. There have been times where they reply in minutes or hours; HOWEVER, most recently, Mary failed to cancel my homeowner's insurance after I sold my home, and I received no reply to my numerous messages over many weeks.

I have been with True now for about 7 years. I switched because they found me car and house insurance for half what I was paying. I check often and True is always the best. And I had to make a claim once and they were quick at dealing with it and my rates didnt go up. They are the best. Tell them I referred you and I get a free bagel! They are the best!

My wife and I have been very pleased with all of our dealings with True Insurance. They have been handling our home and auto insurance for a number of years now.
