Cleary 'bought' my policy from another agency. I never heard a word from them-no friendly check-ins, no calls to make sure we had the right coverage/enough insurance, .nothing. Last month, when a tree came through our roof, I couldn't even get the agent on the phone, and so I called the insurance company directly. An adjuster came right out to assess the damage, and the insurer cut a check.

The only problem was that they paid it to a mortgagee who was paid off more than a decade ago. When I called the agent to get this corrected, he put it back on ME to deal with the insurer, but said he would call to 'get it expedited'-that the new check would be sent to me the day the insurer received the bad check back. As I have a giant hole in my roof and we live in New England, with really bad weather expected, I asked if I could txt or email a photo of the voided check to speed things up.he refused to even ask if that was an option.

I asked him for the street address of the insurer, so that I could overnight the information.he said "they don't have one on their website, but I'll make sure they get the right check to you the day they receive the bad one." That was last week. I called the insurer today, and they've had the bad check since Monday, but never heard anything from the agent, and so didn't realize the urgency. They're cutting the check today.

No surprise, the Cleary Insurance agent wasn't available to speak to me today, either. His only suggestion was to get the roof replaced before the claim was paid, because it's 'the homeowners duty to prevent further damage to the property". So at least we know he can read from the manual. I wish he knew how I might come up with an extra $10k from thin air to fix the roof before the claim is paid.

These people take a commission from your insurance premiums and do NOTHING to help you when you need it. I told the lady in their office today that mine may be only one policy lost for them because of poor service, but I'll do everything one person can do to make sure others know how lazy and ineffective they are. I had to manage my own claim ENTIRELY. CLEARY INSURANCE DID NOTHING.

One star is generous for this place. I obtained an insurance policy through their agent Jenn. She completely lied to me about what my options for insurance were. Specifically, she told me the largest deductible I was allowed to have was $500.00 because that is required by my car's lien holder. Additionally, she told me my lien holder required I have to have specific amounts of coverage, in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I was foolish enough to think she was honest and have insured through them for over a year. I actually spoke with my lien holder yesterday who informed me that none of those things were true: my deductible can be $1,000 and the limits she said I had to have are not only false they are ridiculous given what car I have and the fact I have no assets. Basically, she lied so I had to pay for a much more expensive policy than was necessary.

When I confronted her with her lies her response was to lie again and say that what she told me was "it was her company's policy" to have these limits - - 100% NOT TRUE! Their only "company policy" is to screw people over so they can make more money. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE!
