Our History

Our agency was founded in 1871 by William Fuller and was later acquired by Samuel Sherwood and William Cone. It grew with them for many years and continued with Sherwood's son Malcolm. Raymond S. Redfield then added the business to his own agency, along with the Oppenheimer Agency which had started about 1880.

Jim Stewart, joined Chase, Clarke, Stewart and Fontana in 1980. Jim, graduated from Nichols College and resides in Longmeadow, MA. Jim has served 3 terms as a member of the board of Independent Insurance Agents of Hampden County and served 2 terms as its President. Raymond Lukas, manages the benefits department which provides investment and insurance advice to individuals, groups, and corporations. He has been a licensed securities advisor for over 30 years and holds Series 7, Series 63, Independent advisor and Principals designations.
