In 1950, our agency's namesake - Ronel J. Dubois - began his insurance career as an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Ronel eventually joined Mapes Insurance Agency on the 2nd floor of the old Springvale National Bank building (now home to Key Bank). After a few short years, Ronel bought half interest in the agency, and in 1955, purchased the entire agency from Mr. Mapes. By 1968, Ronel's son, Robert W. Dubois, joined the agency. Father and son later relocated the office to its current location in the center of Sanford at 860 Main Street.
