Godwin Insurance Agency is a family-owned and operated independent agency, and has been since 1953, when brothers Grover Godwin and Louis Godwin originally established the agency. Shirley Ray, who the brothers had hired in 1970 to be a policy typist, became part-owner upon Grover's retirement in 1986, and then sole owner when Louis retired just four years later.
