Cedar Rapids, Iowa businessman, Scott McIntyre Sr., was approached by a group of Des Moines, Iowa businessmen for financial assistance in saving their tiny fire and automobile insurance firm, Ace Mutual Insurance Association. Mr. McIntyre agreed to do what he could, provided that the firm move its headquarters to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
