My apologies for the long story, but it is all pertinent. This is my experience in the past working with agent Ben Wright. This occurred a couple of years ago, but all past reviews have been deleted.

I had no complaints for the first year and loved the rate Ben got me through The Celina Group. This was my first experience having my own policy and not being listed as a driver on someone else's. So, I was new to navigating insurance, and a friend had recommended me to Ley Insurance Agency. After the first year, it was time to renew my policy, and Ben informed me I was late renewing my policy and that I would be charged a late fee. I paid every six months and had never been late before. I asked if there was a way to get the late fee waived, because I didn't understand how policy renewals worked and didn't know I was late. Ben adamantly told me there was not.

I told Ben I was going to call The Celina Group myself and explain the situation in hopes they would waive the fee. Ben got weird and refused to give me a direct number for them, and we hung up. As I was googling the number for The Celina Group, Ben was calling them, asking them not to waive the fee. I found this out from The Celina Group when I called, because the nice lady I spoke to informed me that there was a note taken down in my file regarding this fee from my agent, Ben Wright, mere minutes before I called. She also informed me how odd this request was coming from Ben, because it was, in fact, The Celina Group's policy to waive a late fee upon request the first time someone was late making a payment. So, basically, Ben was asking them to go against their company's policy and charge me a fee, so he could save face.

It was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. Even though this happened a couple of years ago with one particular agent, it has left me feeling uneasy about using Ley Insurance Agency, because when I brought this to their attention, I felt that Michael Ley did not take me seriously. It felt like Michael and Ben were buddies, and this was just a story to laugh about once I left. I was not informed of any repercussions Ben would be facing, nor did anyone give me an apology. I am not the type of person who usually goes to someone's boss to complain, so when I do and don't feel I am being heard, it really sticks with me.

Communication and follow through could use some improvement. While questions get answered, it often takes a few emails to keep it all on track. Everyone there is friendly and seem eager to help.

I had my coverage checked by Ley Ins, and found that I didn't have enough coverage for a new home that had a basement, as well as not enough on my vehicles. They got me new policies with more coverage for a very similar rate. And they handled everything, I didn't even need to make a phone call to my current insurer. It was a seamless experience.

My car insurance was due for the annual renewal. The rate had gone down slightly. Without me asking them to, they checked for lower rates. I have the same coverage and am paying $20 a month less. Great customer service and the procedure was very simple,

For years, I have tolerated shlock agents from PREMIUM companies like State Farm and Allstate. I was so sick of it. Then I discovered Ben Wright at Ley Insurance. Ben has been simply outstanding! His professionalism and cheerful attitude, make doing business with him, a true pleasure. He took hours to research all of our policies and get us quoted and setup with the needed insurance. He worked his butt off I guarantee it and he saved us $$$ in the process. We are now delighted to call Ben Wright our insurance man! We look forward to a long relationship.

Critical: Professionalism I would not recommend Ley Insurance, especially agent Ben Wright. He was rude and unprofessional. If you want an arrogant agent who acts like he's better than you and everyone else, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, run the other way towards someone who actually knows what they're doing.
