The agency was founded in 1987 by Stephen Smithwick (retired) and his business partner, the late Howard Clarke. Originally founded to service the marine industry (marinas, yacht clubs, boat builders, fishing vessels, tug operations and yachts) the agency has evolved and grown to widen its capabilities to handle the insurance needs of business owners of most every industry and the personal insurance needs of communities throughout Maine and beyond.
