H.J. Spier Co Inc was founded in 1930 by Herbert J Spier, Sr. Herb was the first tenant in the Circle Tower Building and his first customer was a barbershop in downtown Indianapolis. Today, we are still headquartered in Indianapolis on the Northeast side near Keystone Crossing. Over the years we have grown into a premier insurance and financial management business.

For over 50 years, Herb (as he was known to colleagues and friends alike) served as an independent insurance agent in Indianapolis with a focus on aviation, seed manufacturers, and medical industries. Herb's passion for flight and aviation continued well into his career as an insurance agent and he used his experience and knowledge to counsel his clients.

There are various types of contractors. There are Artisan contractors who are small in nature and specialize in just one thing such as interior decoration, door and window installation, flooring installation, landscaping, and plumbing. Artisan contractors also include the all-encompassing handyman.

Municipalities may include townships, towns, cities or counties. The exposures for property are extensive with multiple buildings spread over several locations or clustered together. Some municipalities may have older buildings along with other unique exposures involving specialized equipment and facilities.
