The Baker family has made Colorado its home since 1937, when Harry and Mary Baker - along with 10-year-old Lloyd -- left their native Missouri to become part of the "Dust Bowl" pioneer movement. Lloyd grew up in several small Colorado communities, served briefly in both World War II and the Korean War, and after graduation from the University of Colorado, began a career in banking.
