The Buckland Insurance Agency was established in 1979 by Gary Buckland. Gary was born and raised in the Delton area. He graduated from Delton-Kellogg High School and attended Albion College. Gary spent nearly ten years farming before going to work for the John TerAvest Agency in Battle Creek, MI. In 1979, after working in the insurance field for ten years, he felt the time was right to open his own agency in Delton.

Gary wanted to provide insurance services in his hometown community. Gary's son, Patrick joined the agency in 1991, after graduating from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business.
