In 1870 Ransom True Sr. sold his first insurance policy in Syracuse, NY. Since then the business has been passed down from generation to generation and True Insurance has grown to meet the needs of individuals, families and businesses of all sizes in the Ithaca and Tompkins County area. In 1958, Jerome True brought the family business to the Ithaca area, joining with J. Guy Torbert of the T.H. Davenport Co. True eventually bought the business and changed its name to what it is today: True Insurance.
